Default My first bow harvest!

Well guys after about 2 years of reading around and getting information on this site i went to bass pro and bought a bow. I practiced with it for about 7 months and was becoming a good shot. i have been waiting to get a chance to go out and it finally presented itself. On new years eve (the 31st) i traveled 2 hours north from Miami, FL to Fort Pierce,FL. I went to some private land up there. I woke up at 4 a.m and got everything ready and in the car. At about 4:30 a.m i left and got some breakfast at a service plaza on the way. I arrived at the property at 7:00 a.m. It was a very cool morning which caught me by surprise because i was expecting a very hot day. I would say it was in the 50's. I was in my A.S.A.T with nothing under but it was just the perfect temp., not cold nor hot. I arrived and got everything ready. We put all the equipment on the swampbuggy and were off. We went thrue the fields just looking to see if we spotted any hogs. We spotted some about 100 yards out and i tryed to stalk them but had no luck. We kept on going thrue the area and we spotted 1 hog alone feeding in the field. Once again i started to stalk it. I slowly made my way towards him and got to 20 yards of him. I got on my knees and waited till he presented me a shot. He finally gave me broadside/quartering away shot and i aimed and released. Thwack! He ran 5 yards and was down! I waited 10 minutes and walked up to it. I was a perfect shot right in the lungs. He isnt the biggest hog but im sure happy of him. It was my first bow kill and first kill overall. I would estimate him to be about 150#'s.

I just want to thank everyone on this site for all of the info and all of the help u guys have provided me.

I will be getting a head mount and will post some pics as soon as i get it.

Well i bought a PSE Bruin and im drawing 60#'s right now. I used Red Head arrows from Bass Pro with Muzzy's 100's. I have to say those muzzys did a great job. It almost exited thrue the other side. U can see the tip of the b/h on the side of the hog.

Am i hooked? LOL man it was so much fun! I cant wait for the next time. My next hog hunt will be from a treestand which i think would be even funner. just seeing how the hog will work himselfto where i am and having to wait for a perfect shot i think will really get my blood pumping lol.
