Default Gotta love late season!

Here is the buck that I got onthursday the 29 of dec. I've spent 400+ hours in the woods this season, passing up several 130 class bucks and even a couple of 140's that still needed a year to grow. It all came together at about 8 am. I was set up on a trail that led to a bedding area and some hot oak trees on public ground. He came in and busted me and turned to run. He went 20 yards up the hill and stopped to check me out better and that's when I let him have it. The shot was around 50 yards across the "holler" . It sure was neat to watch the lumenock flying through the air and connecting with a good buck! he went about 120 yards and piled up. He field dressed around 225 pounds and scored 144 inches. His rack is almost perfectly symmetrical. I got my buck last year on Jan 5 on public ground also. I only have a few days left to fill my other buck tag. I've had a pretty good season so far, I also have gottem 2 does, a coyote and a turkey with my bowtech liberty this year.

Very nicedeer and a heck of a shot. I've never even practiced a 50 yard bow shot.

I practice extensively out to 60, but 50 is the farthest I will shoot a deer.

Congrats big-time to ya! I took my biggest to date on public land in Illinois on Dec. 26th; he went a touch over 162. There's certainly a lot less competition in the woods then, but it sure is tougher hunting!
