i use it and think it helps to a degree. showering in anti scent body shampoo and using scent blocker deoderant is a big plus i feel. using cover scents like drags to your stand soaked in doe pee and scent wick(s) set up around your stand aslo can help mask your scent. playing the wind is probably the most important. i also carry a spray bottle with me with cover scent. this is usually made of pee cut with my pee. works great on scrapes and other veg around my stand.

Sounds like life is good, I like the height you hunt at, I stay over 20 feet. I have watch deer(mature) go around my Dad many times in the stand. He had no idea they were within 50 yds. The only reason I like scent-lok is for the deer I may not see if the catch my scent. We all know the mature bucks are different animal then 1 1/2 years old or fawns. I myself shot big deer without it, just makes it a little easier. I believe scent-lok should be part of scent conrtol system. It is not the answer!!

Ihave aSupprescent, Scent Blocker, and Scent Lok Dakota suit.I use this mostly for earlyseason hunts.I don't have any for thevery cold weather.

Most importantly,as mostmentioned above, play the wind and use scent control for washing your clothes and body before heading into the woods.

Itry to get as much advantage over the deer as possible. I have been winded usingcarboncamo so it is not bulletproof. Does it help, sure...how much, probably less than 5%.

One thing is for sure, it's not cheap. I have never paid retail for any of mycarbon camo. I pickedthe Supprescentsuit up whena store was liquidating and going out of business and the ScentBocker and Scent Lok up out of season at a significant discount.

I don't know if things haveimproved, but most manufactures only recommend washinga total of 20 times. After that itis just another camo suit. So you definately have to takeextra steps after you get out of the woods to get the suits offand protected in order to cut down on washing and prolong its life. I usually get the clothes off right when I get back to the truck/cabin and put the suit in huge ziploc bags.

I am a freak about scent control. I go through a huge ritual before every hunt. I shower using scent elimination soap and dry off with a scent free towel that I have previously washed in scent free laundry detergent, along with a large amount of baking soda. EVERY article of clothing I wearhas been through the same process as the towel. I also use scent free mouth spray.On my way into my stand, I pack most of my clothing inmy back pack. I wear a Scent-lok base slayer suit and a pair of camo pants and rubber knee boots of course. Once at my stand, I put on my laying clothing, then I wear a scent-lok jumper suit, then I wear a scent-lok leafy wear suit. I use ascent-lok breath shield also. When I first purchased my scent-lok suits I was having great success, but as time went on, I was getting winded every once in a while. This season, I was winded several times. (Wind is difficult to hunt as it swirles in thearea I hunt) I beleive that the thermals and fog play a big factor in scent control. I tend to get windedmore when the fog has set in. I beleive that your scent is held in the area that you hunt longer, where if there was a breeze, the scent would be carried away and depleated.I don't like to useurine asa cover scent at the stand site as this odor stays at yourstand site long after you do, and the site gets worn out much faster.

Ibeleive inscent-lok clothing, but I too agree that it is only about 5 percent of your entire scent controlarsenal. Also, I tried the dead down wind products this year and i'm switching back to scent killer next year.

It is a complete and total ridiculous way to waste money. Never used it and never will and I can without a doubt in my mind let you know that I will continue to have deer within pissing range while in my stand...including monster bucks! Don't waste your money...learn how to deer hunt with a bow.

Well I can honestly say that I have learned how to deer hunt with a bow. I was simply asking opinions on scent control and scent lok suits, seeing as how the spot i'm hunting now the wind tends to swirl quite a bit, but thanks for your input.

I have an entire sent-lok suit and I don't think they work beyond the first maybe second year. I don't believe the whole reactivation b.s.

Use the scent free detergent, scent free soap and clamp your arse down tight!

I bought a Scent Lok Savannah suit last rear on sale for 89.00. I love it because in Sept. it is all I wear and the mosquitos don't bite through it and in the winter it is large enough to use as my final layer. It is not a cure-all just one more item that helps.Where I hunt the deer never come in on the same trail twice. They come in downwind upwind crosswind it is HONESTLY never the same way twice and it is pretty thick which makes my shot angle too steep for my liking if I go higher than about 20ft.(deer are usually 10yds or less). I did not change my pre-hunt routine however.I still go through all possible precautions that I can. The suit just adds a little more to my odds. Shot my biggest buck this year @ 12yds. I was 18ft. up and he came in dead downwind. I love it but it is not the only thing you need.

I killed my biggest buck at 4 yards without a scent control suit a few years ago. Do whatever makes you feel comfortable. A few years a ago I purchased a scent control suit from the Walmart when they went on clearance sale. It is the noisiest clothing I have in my big stack of camo. I stopped and touched some the other day and it is still just as noisy. If you buy this clothing, be sure you can touch it first to make sure it is quiet.
