Wear what's comfortable. Don't wear them in the house and things like that. I know everyone says rubber contains you odor. BUT.. BUT... BUT... It also makes your feet sweat like nothing else. In the best of days your feet will sweat in rubber. That's uncomfortable to live with... plus it can lead to cold feet. Some rubber boots stink worse than bear feet. Stay off the trails as much as possible and dress warm and dry. If you move so much as a toe with rubber boots it just pushes all that stinky foot sweat smell right out of the top of the boots. Just moving around on a stand generates a big stink in rubber boots. I know I'm an odd ball on this (According to the EXPERTS) who all write the same story... wear rubber. But they're either cold or hot, make your feet sweat more than anything, are not as comfortable as leather or Cordura, don't offer the protection... SO, why wear them. Hunt smart and comfortable. Wear what you like.

I have to agree with Shortdraw. I wear leather boots with cotton socks and i certainly don't sweat in them and im in Texas. For some reason if i would sweat the cotton socks would absorb most of it anyway, not the leather. They are more comfortable than rubber, warmer in cold weather and if they are used only for hunting and kept free from gas oil etc. i.e. stored away when not hunting there should be no problem. I have not seen deer pick up my scent where i have walked wearing leather boots or if they did it didn't seem to bother them. Didn't the indians wear leather moccasins? <img src=icon_smile_wink.gif border=0 align=middle>
