Default Big Smiles

We just had a fair number of troops return from Iraq over the weekend here in Texas. I saw two marines walking through the mall last night in full dress. I stopped them and shook their hands and simply said "We appreciate you and wish you good luck and good health". They smiled like kids at Christmas and it was at that moment I saw that they were just kids.

I just wanted to share the joy that a small jesture gave these soldiers and encourage you to do the same when you see them. All political views aside, thesesoldiers deserve our support.

Merry Christmas

That's great! They really are kids, they're not too much older than me. Recently I went to DFW to greet the troops as they arrived back home. It was really a neat experience.

I saw ayoung maninfull Marine dress uniform in the Mall, he couldnt have been more than 20. He was shopping in Warner Bros obviously for some kids clothes or toys. I went to the cashier and gave her my credit card and told her to ring it whatever hebrings up to the counterup and dont mention to him who was responsible, and tell him thank you for a job well done and thank you for serving our wonderful country from some much appreciated fans. She started crying before he even got up there. She didnt tell him who it was from, but he was looking around pretty hard and was smiling as big as a harvest moon, Was great.

Couldn't agree more! Even small things can make a big difference when you are a long way from home and in harms way.

Yes those soldiers do get younger every year.

A very kind thing to do Diesel77, way to go.
