Asking this question is the same as asking the best bow question, you'll have more opinions than you need but in the last 10 plus years I've seen this question on this site, The Ol'man line and the Summit line has to be in the top two....It's my understanding that Ol'man was bought out by Gorilla so I don't know if the quality is still there.

I always used hang-on stands, for years. This is the first year that I picked up a climber. I got the Summit Goliath, liked the 2" extra width on the top section and the heavier duty rating of this stand. At 6'-0" and almost 255 lbs. I have to give this stand two thumbs up. Can't comment on any other climbers, because I never used them or owned them before.
But I do like this Summit!!!

Hey Rob - just curious as to whether or not you've tried out the Lone Wolf stands. If so, what did you think? If not, PM me. We need to talk.

I second the Lone Wolf Stand. I have owned Summit, Buckshot, and to date I cannot nor have I found a tree stand I like better than my Lone Wolf Alpha sit N Climb. That goes for there Lock on's as well. Nothing better in my opinion.

theres a cheap one at walmart only 50 dollars on sale now, thats pretty comfortable. made by ameristep i think. its weighs a ton but if you plan on leaving it in the tree it will work great.

If you are thinking of buying a climber, don't scrimp. Get the best one you can afford. I've owned a Summit, Ol Man, Loggy Bayou, and am on my 4th year with a Lone Wolf. By far I am more pleased with my Lone Wolf sitnclimb although the Summit was more comfortable for sitting.

I actually have not used the Lone Wolf climbers, I have used both Summit and Ol'man and prefer the Ol'man.

My reply basically was the majority of use I've seen answered on this question over the many years. If Lone Wolf makes a stand that can beat out my Ol'man, you have my attention.
