First off, let me say WOW! I have enjoyed reading the debates.

Atlas, that is one nice buck!:) My top pin would take care of that.;)

I think you missed Trembrow's post about the shed trap. Your'e half way there w/ the straw in your yard. I would definitely try his idea if I were you. Seems harmless.

You promote your illegal behavior by showing it off; I don't show it off because I'm not proud to break the law! Both behaviors Wrong, your just showing it off because you believe your right to break the law.
I'm not promoting anything............except that there is a nice buck in my yard that I thought everyone would enjoy seeing a few pics of. Your point would be valid if this thread was about me bragging about how I am flaunting the rules..........but it's not and never has been.

Finally, If your not looking for a solution; thats a problem.
No.......it's not.

Your not doing the deer any favors here. Unless there is another super secret special twist; these deer are not being hunted - hence, unless you have the coveted secret Mountain Lions of NYroaming your preserve; the deer population will have to exceed the habitats capacity eventually. Thats simple biology - no hunters; lots of feed.
What do you mean "lots of feed"??? If you're not gonna read the thread then what is the point?? I already told you that the deer get some chow once the snow hits and it serves a dual purpose of helping them get through a tough stretch and keeps damage to a minimum. They do not get a thing from anyone for 8-10 months a year depending on weather. I hardly see that as something they are dependent on or as "lots" of feed.

Sooner than you think these deer will be totally reliant upon your feeding them; or there will be serious winter kills from starvation. But I'm sure there's another excuse as to why that won't happen.
Once again another assumption.............I have lived here my whole life. Please don't tell me what is gonna happen sooner then I think.........because it would have already happened in the last couple decades or so.

What makes your situation worse is the fact that there are NO Hunters; and your not letting mother nature run her cruel means of population control.
Yea, well if giving an animal that we screwed out of his natural habitat a little food on a freezing cold day makes me a bad guy.........then so be it. I toss stuff out for the rabbits and turkey too. I even fed a stray cat a can of tuna one day because he was starving. I guess I am just not cold hearted enough to look an animal in the eye and watch it slowly starve to death.

I still fail to see your logic & justification; but I'm sure you'll still try to convince me.
I'm not trying to convince you of anything........I already told you I'm not here seeking your approval.

I may have gotten hot headed when i didn't know you were joking when you denied feeding the deer - hence me calling you a liar; and I know I've made some mistakes on this thread because of it (like getting interupted and not finishing my post on the hunting hours & stand comment - for which I have appologized. However, that doesn't make my point any less valid - Your proud to break the law and flaunt it. I'll own my mistakes.
However,

You continually miss the point............the thread has nothing to do with feeding. Figure that out and it might sink in.

If your not looking for a solution; your the problem.
Me..........and everyone else that lives here. So I think we'll all be fine and you can stop worrying so much about our "problem" that doesn't exist.

In the long run you are doing more damage than good.
Yea well that would mean a whole lot more if this was something new around here............but since it has been this way my whole life and never done "damage" I'm not too worried about that changing over night.

Deer will over populate an area with No hunters, No exits and plenty of food. Longer living deer, healthier & larger numbers of offspring will soon equal over population. Thats a fact of life.
Lots of them get killed by cars and many fall to dogs each year.......I have heard many neighbors say they found dead fawns that didn't make the winter but I never have. That is a fact of life around here.

Oh, but wait, because i made a couple mistakes; I obviously don't know ANYTHING.
I'm sorry.
Are you playing the victim now??

I'mSorryfor calling you a liar.
It's cool...........my brother is a CO so he doesn't trust anyone either ;)
