Grandsons first with pics
I am so pumped I can hardly stand it I will tell the story as told to me at about 9:30 this morning I got a call and my grandson said hi pops did you get anything and I said I couldnt go this morning did you see anything he said yeah I got that 8 pt and I said sure Richard I know anyway he had to put his mom (my Daughter) on and sure enough he did. He got into his stand at 6 am and just after daylight he hears a deer urinating behind his stand he just sits there and 2 does walk right under his stand and go to the apple tree about 12yds away I had told him to shoot the first thing he saw as he has never taken a deer with anything before missed a couple with a rifle but this is his first year with bow. He said after a few minutes of watching the does he saw something coming from the other side of the tree he watched and it was the 8pt they had been seeing it and a 5 and 3 anyway he said the 8 looked right at him and he was already at full draw so he waited he said for at least 5 mins we know more like 30 or 40 secs and the buck looked down and he hit the trigger. The arrow hit back a little and went right through the liver . He waited a few mins and got down and found the blood and went to get his Dad who was watching the 3pt.
They tracked it for about 100yds and the blood gave out and then started to grid search and my son-in law saw it piled up ahead of them. My Grandson is 12 he will be 13 on the 28th of this month and I am so proud of him even if I dont see a deer this year my season is complete.here are a few pics.

Great story and nice pics. Your grandson has done well, just hope that killing that buck doesnt make him set his sights too high when opportunities present themselves on other deer. Sounds like it will be a good family reunion whe the family gets together this fall.
