I would have shot it, if and only if it appeared to be mortally wounded. But the chances of me contacting the DNR would probablly be slim to none. If you get the wrong guy that is having a bad day, he could nail you for multiple tickets and label you as a poacher. Not really a chance I would want to take. This time of the year, let him lay and go tag him the next morning.

Screw that IfI shot a deer that appeared to be sick, the last thingI want to do is get a bunch of wardens walking around on my 300 acres killing off all the deer. Id shoot the thing and drag it into one of our pits and let it rot and not say a damned thing to anyone.
