Default COLD!!!!!!!

Was thinking of going out this afternoon, supposed to be a high of 5 degrees F. 10-20 mph winds also so the wind chill will be well below zero. Just wondering if it would be worth going out in this or wont the deer be moving much? Any opinions would be great! Thanks!

I hunt late season in Wisconsin Gets cold here too. I find the effects me more then it does the deer. just from past hunting I find better movement when cold instead of warmer temps Plus for whatever reason this happens late season cold weather the seem to bunch up. I see larger groups in the really cold weather.

GET OUT THERE!!! The colder the better for late season hunting. I have seen the most deer movement when the weather is near or below zero. Just have to dress warmer.
Good Luck!

I too think they move better when its colder. They need to eat more as they burn more energy trying to keep warm! I was out on Friday and it was like 7 degrees or something like that when I got to my truck! Good luck!

I agree, and I had a 135" perfect 10 pointer at 14 yards Saturday night. It was about 6-8 degrees and dead calm perfect. He'll be a beauty next year.

Last year I tried hunting an evening when it was 20 below. I didn't see a deer. I think that was too cold even for them!

I like hunting in the cold. It adds to the challenge. It's been between 3-10 degree today. Luckily the wind is only around 10-15 so it's probably around 5-10 below with windchill. The days with the 30-40 mph winds is when the cold really starts to cut through ya.

Well I just got back, it was cold, but well worth it. About 4 does made their way into the beans I set up by at 5pm. The other 3 came. Then another 4, then I lost count after that. All does though but theres got to be a buck close by....maybe next time!!

I love cold, the colder the better. Deer have to feed when it is cold out. Find a good food source and sit there. www.pbase.com/mlo3135127 or www.wildturkey.smugmug.com .

I definately see an increase in deer numbers and a serious decrease in hunters numbers.
