Default Do Coons eat on deer?

I shot a button buck last night about 6:30. I stayed in the stand till 7:15, came down, found the arrow with blood all over it. Did a quick sweep with a mini-mag light. Couldn't find a trail, so I quit, went back to house for a better light. Came back, did a bigger sweep and found the deer about 20 yds away dead. I heard something close by and shined a big coon goin over a log. Went back to the deer and noticed something had eaten the tail and rump around the anus. Would a coon do that?
