Honestly now....Anyone ever had a doe mounted?
I saw some the other night on a V show (taxidermy national championships). Some were with buck mounts....some weren't. I thought they were beautiful...but had never considered it.
Your thoughts?

I havent, but I have one in the freezer right now that I am going to try my hand at this winter.
I think they are very neat looking. All you ever see is antlers, so a doe is kind of unique and makes a great mount to put right next to a buck.

My brother-in-law got his son's first deer -- a button buck -- mounted. Unless someone told you different, it looks just like a small doe.
I've also seen the back-end "redneck doorbell" models.

I have a doe on my wall beside a small buck.I like mounts and this doe happened to dress out 139#'s so I decided to have her mounted. They are both bow kills and the small buck was my first bow kill ever.

A couple of years ago I shot a doe and my dad had it mounted for me without
me knowing it. He wanted to get it done because it was the first one where he
helped me bloodtrail. Also the deer was slightly quartering towards me and at the
shot she went from nose to the ground to staring at me. Shows you how fast their
reflexes are. Anyway this put her ear right over the kill zone by the time the arrow
arrived. She had a triangle pierced ear and the arrow still hit were I was aiming. He
told the taxidermist not to fix it because it is part of the story. She looks good next to
a buck I killed a few years before.
