RE: TV "Unethical" shots

Quartering to shots are tricky as can be. Depends on the level of quartering, depends on the size of the deer(bone structure, not antler), the archers skill level, and power of thier bow.

And as far as the "God make my aim true" statement goes, that is in NO way pushing beliefs. I'm not religious at all, and found no harm or "pushyness" in that whatsoever.

I have taken 4 qrt to shots and I am 1/4, will I take another one again. It matters on how far away the deer is away from me. 10 yds and in I will take the shot, 10 yds out I will not. What I fond is I like to hit or just miss shoulder blade. I stated before I would not take a qrt to shot, but things change when your in the stand. I have lost three deer in my 21 years of hunting all shot qrt and in the shoulder and + 10 yds away. All I aimed to far back worry about hitting the shoulder. With the Montec 125 I feel pretty confident to get through the shoulder blade inside of 10 yds. To each his own, the guy on Dream Season got the deer.

He got the deer, alright....but remember...

Ethics = doing the right thing.....when even the wrong thing isn't "illegal". There's a post on here somewhere about "head shots", too.

Good point, but who are we to say what is wrong and what is right? The guy had confidence he could make the shot. He practice a lot, did all his prep work, etc. I have seen all the Drury tapes, and they all have taken I would not.
When you get a 150 class in front of you and he looks like he is going to bolt, and he is qrt to you, that is the true test. Last year I let one walk by and not pull the trigger, because he was walking and qrt to a bit. If he would have stop I would have pulled the trigger. He was 7 yds away.

I leave with this gentlemen,

I hear a lot of preaching from people, my only question is, do they live the way they preach, or preach they way they want everyone to believe they live?

I see that you just joined this forum last month. I have read through two threads that you have posted on. The one with the doe shot in the head and this one. It is clear to me that you are the first to personally attack and spout out YOUR beliefs but when someone else does its wrong? From reading some of the replies that you have made it is clear to me that you are a complete and total IDIOT. I will not reply to anything you ever post again.:D

Hey McGhee,

Quit pushing your intolerant non-religion on me. Let us believe the way we want.

See the hypocrisy?

I apologize if my post was misconstrued. I wasn't talking about Jay Gregory...or Michael Waddell...or any of the Primos guys taking those shots. These were NOT professional hunters taking these shots that they were filming.

I just thought it was/is unethical.....or at leastpoor judgement. I'm again sorry if I offended anyone.

RE: TV "Unethical" shots

I personnaly have written e-mails to one show in particular..the name I'll keep to myself. They depicted
the hunter, guide, and land owner with this nice buck....WITH THE ARROW STILL IN HIM!!!!!!! Tasteless IMO.
Another hunt was a hunter that took a shot that was longer that he had practiced and wounded the animal.
It was stalked and another arrow was used to kill it. It seems like if you have acamera anyone can have a "TV show.

I never got a reply from the producer....wonder why?........

I have no idea what you are saying.

RE: TV "Unethical" shots

no. 1 lady was on her first archery hunt.....and she was using a compound bow for the first time (draw-loc??).
Not only was it her first bowhunt, but she had only taken two shots with a bow ever in her life. That was on Knockout Hunting Adventures. I actually emailed the show asking about it and was accused of being a PETA spokesman and pretty much threatened by the host who happens to be an ex boxer. I feel that this is one show that has no business being on TV.
