Today I decided I would do an evening hunt. I fell asleep on the couch around 11 reading the posts on this website. I woke up around3:00 and rushed to get everything ready to leave. I stepped outside and had a light wind from the south. Perfect I thought. Well I get to the woods around 3:30, throw on my camo and boots and head out to the woods. As I'm walking I realize the wind shifted and now its out of the west and picked up greatly. I wanted to just go home. Well I reluctantly decided I would go ahead and hunt knowing that there is one trail that would benefit me in one of the stands. WellI get up in the stand and start to pull my bow up. Thank God I still had my feet in the straps of the bottom part of the stand cause the damn top one fell. Causing the second to lose grip. Thank God for a harness, and I just clipped it to the tree. After getting both parts of the stand back I decided it just wasnt my day. I decided I would move one of my stands to a different part of the woods. I take it off the tree and realize that the other part of my harness, the one that goes around thetree was still 25 feet up in the air. So I strap the stand back on and climb the tree and get the other part. Go to the new spot and find out all the trees are to big. Just what i needed. The place seemed perfect. Small swampy area with trails leading in and out in every direction. So i set up about 35 yards down on one of the trails that Ive seen the deer using the most.
Sorry bout the length, just had to vent. Never had a day go as wrong as this one did.

I hunted from 7:30 - 2 and didn't see a freakin thing

I've had days where everything went wrong! Those are the days that make you want to quit all together.....even though I still keep coming back. haha
