I'd keep the horns but wouldn't put the money into mounting anything I didn't take in the field both ethically and legally. I have a neighbor, who is thought by many to be a "good" hunter. His house is full of very respectful mounts. I personally know that three of them are deer he shot bow hunting, was unable to recover, saw the crows flying weeks later, found "his" buck and took it in to have a new cape put on and now tells everyone that's the buck he took such in such year bow hunting! If you ask me he's one of the poorest hunters I've had the dishonor to meet. Sorry of venting, but I just disagree on the way he represents the sport. Good luck everyone!

No no, I didn't take it to the taxidermist to have it mounted. I took it to him to give him the cape and any meat he wanted. He is doing a buck I shot a week ago. In fact, he actually ended up skinning the whole buck out for a life size mount for his display room. I only wanted the rack back.
Nope, not enough money here to mount road kills.
