I shot under a deer-? on Arrow Trajectory

I'm 20 feet up in my stand, the deer is 26 paces out and I shoot under it. I aimed between my 20 and 30 yard pins and it went under it ....

Why?....what distance shouldhave pegged it for? how should I determine distance from that high up?

from my experience and advise from my family... being up in a tree at 20 yards should only make a yards difference than on the ground ...

Have you practiced from 20' up in a tree? Probably a form or just a follow through issue. Your pins should be pretty much right on..............If anything you should hit a shade high!!!

did u remember to draw your bow back straight and anchor like you were going to shoot a squirrel in the tree right in front of you at 20'? From there, bend at the waist to make sure that you are not changing your anchor point. That could have been the difference

Shooting high....Thats what I thought......

I thought I was calm enough.....maybe not...

I just dont want to wound an animal...I want to make sure of a nice clean kill...Oh well...I'll keep trying...

If you tweek your wrist, punch your release, let the cams creep, etc..it all makes a difference and if you do a few of those turns into a hugeee difference. So yea as Legacy357 said bending at the waist is a must.If you didnt bend at the waist your were prolly feeling akward and couldve not centered the peep. Form Form FORM!! :D

I took the shot sitting down but pulled back bending over directly at the deer....

Live and learn, I'm glad I didn't hit it in the leg or something stupid like that.
