I was wondering what you guys guys do about broadhead every year. Do you resharpen or buy new ones? After you have shot a deer with one broadhead will you reuse it with out sharpening? If you do sharpen what are some good sharpeners on the market?
Thanks much.

Ive shot two does this years with the same arrow/BH combo. The muzzy didnt need to be sharpened but I did anyway. I have a Allen broadhead sharpener, like 4 bucks at walmart. Theres no use in buying new broadheads each year unless you need to.

I've killed four this year, and resharpened all my heads. unless the ferul is bent (sp). I did buy my first new pack of thunderheads in about four years this year. just kept resharpening. got tired of being nagged about the cost of them, so I invested in $10 of resharpening equip, and not I can spend that money and nagging elsewhere in hunting lol.

I guess I am not as frugal as everyone else so far.
I do buy a new pack of muzzy's every year and resharpen during the year with a cheap broadhead sharpener
But I use my old broadheads for practice instead of field tips.
Practice the way you are going to play!

I only hunt with brand new heads right out of the package. Even if they've only been shot once or twice into a target (or an animal) they're not as sharp as they could be.
In fact, in a few minutes I'm going to replace the blades on the heads I used on my doe earlier this week in preparation for tomorrow's hunt.

I've re-used broaheads over the years if I had to (I live an hour from nearest archery shop), my Spitfires are all being re-used, diassembled them, cleaned 'em, sharpened 'em with a cheap sharpener and they're good as new.
I also shoot alot of practice with broadheads so I know where they are flying every time I go hunting.

Re-sharpen 'em just like any other broadhead. I did order new blades for mine, but after I shot 2 does with same broadhead now, they are still almost as sharp as new, and once I sharpened 'em and cleaned the head up, you can't tell its even been fired.
