this is a good thing yall are doin,,we had a friend fall from a stand a few years ago and i think he broke his leg. i started hunting from a stand a little bit last year and always wore my safety harness,,then this year we had a recall on the harness that we used that came with the stands,,so i went out and bought a new SOP fastback model and i alsolutly love the thing and will not climb a stand w/o it,,to bad dad at the same way,,He said somehting about getting one but he never did and is still using the ones from last year,,,but the stands are latter stands and they would be pretty hard to fall out of unless u fell forward off the stand,,

one of the best things i can think of to add to the list of things to take with u and tell someone of where u would be is if at all possible hunt with a friend and take two way radios just incase the worst does happen,,,

again i respect yall for what u are doin and good luck this fall!!!

We definately need more hunters like these fine gentlemen.
Matt--I think you started something real good here.Definately something to be used in a stand to save more lives.Hopefully some needy people take this offer and use them.
Good job guys

P.S--we should have this thread posted to the top,and anyone who has one available,to be given away free ,should post it.
Wish I had one to donate[]

Matt, thats really cool buddy. Hopefully this kind of thing really makes people think harder about not wearing a harness in a tree.

Kudos to Matt.

I just got one this year and used it for the first time last week on my first hunt of the year. I got the SOP fastback, and like the vest, it is easy to put on once you know how.

The great thing is that it is easier to put on than a "safety strap" once you get in the stand, it gives you more maneuverability and won't make hardly any noise becausea rope goes around the tree and not a noisy thick strap.

All you do with the $50 or so FastBack is, BEFORE YOU LEAVE TO GO HUNTINGbut after you have yourTshirt and pants on, put the shoulder straps over your shoulders. Then buckle the waist strap by inserting the smaller buckle through the slot in the bigger buckle, then put on each leg strap the same way, smaller buckle through bigger buckle. That's it. It literally probably takes less than 20 seconds to put it on, and another 20 seconds once you are in the tree.

Cool idea Matt-

I'll chip in for anyone that needs one. I have 3 harnesses that I will never use. I got 2 of them that came with ladder stands that I bought. The other one I bought many moons ago and have used once. One is a full body harness and the other 2 are 4 point harnesses.
I hope I don't catch any flack for this, but I don't use safety harnesses. I hunt either from ladder stands or ground blinds. I really don't see the possiblity of me falling out of one of my ladder stands. If I fall out of my ground blind I think the injuries would be minor[:-].

Anyone that will put them to good use let me know. The full body harness is a nice harness by the way. The other two I still have in the package they came in with the ladder stands. PM me if interested.

You guys are truly amazing people. I also feel honored to be a part of this. I was also given my 4pt harness by a guy who has too many of them.
