how long after you started bowhunting did it take to harvest your first buck. would love to hear about it.

My first year bowhunting, I harvested a doe. My 2nd year of bowhunting I harvested a descent 9X5. It took a lot of practice and time, but I ended up putting a good shot on him.

2nd year. was the 8 pointer
3rd year. Was the bigger 8 pointer.

First year I was 12 Shot a Fawn, Next year a 6 pointer, then a big 8 weighted 230 lbs. I was so pumped when I shot that fawn I ran a mile down the road to get my Dad. On my run I scared three deer heading towards him.

I am blessed enough to have soleaccess to our family farm. Killed my first buck my first year.

Year 1 8 pt Nov 15
Year2 8 pt Nov 15
Year 3 140 inch 8 point Nov 14.

I seem to like mid november[:-]

1st year - doe
2nd year- fox squirrel, no deer
this year- 2 does and working on my 1st buck

1st year 8 point - Lucky I guess....

Looks like you only need to go out 2 or 3 days out of the year [8D]

first year I didn't take a deer. second year, I shot a button buck from the ground in nj. I shot a 9" spike the year after that on public ground in nj.
