I hunted almost 10 years before I shot my first buck. I shot allot of does though. Where I hunted then there weren't allot of bucks around. I didn't hunt near as much then as I do now and I have some real good land now. my first buck was a little seven pointer. I couldn't of been more happy:D;)

First buck with a bow was three years in the making, but there were numerous does along the way

I started hunting with a shotgun in 1990 at the age of 20.
I hunted for 9 years without ever bagging one of my own.

In February of 1999 I bought my bow.
In November of that year I shot my first deer with my bow:

I'm still working on it. My first year archery hunting I didn't get anything, but it wasdefinately a learning experience. As I am the only one in my family that archery hunts. My second year was a little better and I harvested a doe. My third and current year is still pending.....

My first weekend I shot a doe and then I shot a spike the following weekend. The next year I shot a nice sized cowhorned buck.

I have pasted on many small bucks.

It took me five years to get my first buck...but I got him with a bow, so it was definitally worth it!!

This year was my 6th year. I'm still waiting that buck to come by close enough. Same with the does. I'm 0-0 with the bow.

3 long years... for a buck, 1 for an elk

1st year: doe
2nd year: coyote and hit a buck but didn't recover; thank god he survived
3rd year: doe and missed a buck
this year: had a buck coming right at me until my neighbor decides to get out of his stand a half hour early. EEEEEERRRRRRR!!!!
Therefore, i am still waiting on my first buck but my does satisfy me just as much!!
