what if there is no posted sighs up do u ask to hunt it????

Depends on how long you want to hunt that property...if you dont ask and someone finds you then you could very likely get the boot; if you do ask you are either going to get a yes, meaning that you can hunt it whenever you want, renewing the permission each year...or you will get a no.
which would you rather have!?

here in wisconsin that is still considered trespassing.

You don't have to post your property at all anymore. If you catch someone on it it's trespassing, posted or not.

Always make every attempt to get permission. Here in MN you can legal chase your wounded game even on posted land without weapon. I would still go and try to locate the land owner. It's just considerate and the right thing to do.

Yes. In wisconsin even though there arent any no trespassing signs, it is still illegal to go onto someones property with out written or verbal consent of the landowner.Private land in Wisconsin is posted, even though there may not be any signs. Always ask about a month in advanced, help the owner of the property out (earn your hunt), respect his decission on when and where you are allowed to hunt, after a succesfull hunt, share your harvest, you will more than likely be invited back next year. Remember, dont help him just before and during season, help him when ever he may need it. Start a good friendship with a landowner, but dont take advantage of the situation.
