Unbeivable day in the stand....

Well fellas, as most of you know, I've been trying to hunt with a broken leg/ankle for the past month. Thank god my brother and buddies helped me out and built me a ground blind. Here's how yesterday worked out:
I'm sitting in my blind ( a naturally built ground blind) and hadn't seen anything. It was about 5 minutes to 8 and I see a gorgeous little 8 point in the 120" range. I wasn't going to shoot because we've got five deer we've seen all over 140" so i'm holding off. This little eight walked up the trail to my ground blind and started EATING THE LEAVES OFF MY GROUND BLIND. I've got my hat tilted down and i'm looking at this deer 2 feet from me. I could have stabbed him if I wanted. The deer wanders off.......
an hour later at 9 I look to my left and see one of the big boys walking about 65 yards away. He was a 8 that would go well into the 140's. Unbelievable deer. He makes his way around my blind, and I couldn't get a shot as he was too far. I leave at 11 a.m. and let my hunting buddies know what was up.
Later that evening I come back at 2. I hunt till dark in the rain seeing 5 does all close enough for a shot, however I didn't want to risk it in the rain
I crutch out to find my dad was out in the field waiting to pick me up. He sat out in the field since 3 (dad doesn't bow hunt) and had seen 6 bucks 4 of which were all shooters over 130". All of these deer had been out in the field.
I couldn't believe that dad had seen so many big bucks. I never knew I was sitting on such a hot spot. I've been scouting and seen big buck sign, but never got any trail cam pics. Little did I know. This year is shaping up to be phenomenal.
It's going to be hard to be at college away from the woods but I'll be home every weekend. I'm more pumped than i've ever been. I thank god that he still lets me get to the woods even with the bum leg. Thanks for the help posting on how I could get out. I appreciate it. I'm excited about this year, and I'll keep you updated to see if I bring one of the big boys down. Adios fellas.

Nice!!! Good luck getting one of those big boys this year. I know what it's like to go hunting on a bum leg. Last year I went out hunting opening morning of rifle...just two weeks after I had surgury on my leg.
