Default DECOYS...DO YOU USE THEM

With the rut fast approching, I was wondering how many of you use decoys and what strategies do you use with them? What brand of decoy do you prefer? Why?

I use decoys quite often, and they are very effective. My favorite brand is Renzo's. They work great. Put a little white handkerchief or something on the tail to give it the full effect. During the rut nothing works better than a Renzo's feeding doe with a tinks scent bomb right underneath her. Try it out.

I've used them w/ mixed results, but I may have been using them incorrectly also.

I have used a Carry Lite decoy for the lst 2 seasons. I really like it, but have not had a BIG buck come into it yet. I have however had does as well as small bucks get close enough that they actually touched the deer with their noses.

I am going to try it again this week in a field edge. Wish me luck!

I used one quite a bit last season.
Mixed results
Attracted some, spooked others?
It is a redi doe.
I'm going to try the whitehankerchief trick this year and see if that helps.

There's a great story by Bill Winke, I think, in one of the bowhunting mags this past month. If you're really interested in this subject, it's well worth the read.
