Default The biggest trophies are sometimes small!

Today my son and I went to the woods to check my game cams, on the way out we saw a flock of turkeys in the logging road, and they scattered and went both directions. I hurried and took him home, and put on my camo and was going to try to call one in, since it is our fall turkey season. I got ready and my son had a fit to go with me, he just turned 3 last Thursday, well he made me feel bad, so I decided to let him tag along, so he could get some more time in the woods, he loves it out there, spending time with dad. Well I carried him to where I wanted to set up and we both sat down and I started to call, after about 10 minutes saw them coming in, so I told him I saw them and not to move, he was still as a mouse, and just sat kind of behing me looking under my arm, He got to see the flock come in to about 30 yards and see me take one. He was so excited, the first thing he said was "Good shot daddy!!' and "Im so poud of you!" He thought it was great. It was a 12 lb hen and will be the most memorable turkey hunt Ive ever been on. It was so awesome to share it with him and hope more than anything I can spend many more days just like it with him. I hope he is as hooked as I am. Here is the pic, Just wanted to share my excitement.

Doesn't get any better than that does it? Congrats on the great day with your son and on your hen.

Congrats! He'll be bringing turkeys home to you before too long all by himself.

Congratulations, I remember the first turkey my dad took when I was with him. I was 7, to date this is one of the most memorable experiences of my life. Well done.

Great story, man! That is awesome. I also have a three year old. I haven't had a chance to take him hunting yet, but I have him hooked on hunting shows. I can't wait to make memories like that with him.
