Which week is the "best" for hunting?

Which week is the "best" for hunting?
I am planning on taking a week off for hunting with a buddy and we are stumped as to which week to take off.
Do you think the first or second week of November?
By the way, we live in NY.

Though if your season ends in early Nov. like here in PA take the last week of your season.

look up PA seasons, whichever weekend is the last weekend of PA archery take that week before off. im sure the rut is in in NY at that time too. by FAR the best for trophy buck.

I would say the first week,the bucks will be chase'in does real good then!
the second week they aught to be pairing up with a doe,you won't see too much of them when they do that.
By the way,I used to live in Lake George in the Adirondacs
that's when me and my dad used to go.

I'd say it depends on when your gun season is. If its the second week then I'd hunt every daybefore that. If its early...like nov 1.....I'd wait till a week after the gun season to the third week.

thanks for all the posts. I actually don't have to worry about gun season as here on Long Island it is bow only until January 1st. Gotta love it.
I've been leaning towards the first week and my buddy wants to take the second week.
We usually take the first week but it might be the second week this year as it seems the rut may be a little later this year.
