Slow morning
Well I got up at 5:00 a.m. and got my shower and out the door at 5:30. I get to my stand at around 5:45 (way to early). At close to 7 the sun comes up, long wait for some daylight. I had a squirrell under me around 6:15 though to keep me company not that I wanted any. Well close to 10 I decide to get down. I head for the truck and as I top the hill a deer blew at me and bye bye to it. I get to my truck and I see what I think are some deer down the valley from me real close to some turkeys. Instead of deer though it was a pack of 6 coyotes. I get out my call and set it to distressed fawn and start to blow from the drivers seat of the truck. Well three ran one way and three came towards me. I actually called one to within 25 yards of my vehicle. Not a very wily coyote if you ask me. I am thinkingmaybe that is why there were no deer all morning. I guess I will have to go thin out some coyotes ASAP. They were all good looking coyotes though anlike the mangy ones that have been running around Western Iowa the last few years. Well just a update on how the day went. Oh yea to top it off my quiver broke. Don't but a PSE quiver guys. OOPS I called them and they are sending me a new one so ignore that last sentence. [&:]Good luck and happy hunting.

RE: Slow morning
OMG....shoot the bastards!!! I carry my .22-250 in my truck all the time for such occasions. I would have gotten all 6 of them! i have only seen 2 coyotes in pa, one i thought it was a dog and didn't shoot(but it was a coyote cause someone shot it 2 seconds later) and the other one was in turkey season that i missed with 3 inch mag cause he was booking it across a powerline. If i had time to sit and watch the yotes, you can guarentee the .22-250 would be ringing off shots!
