I've been finding some weird poop, was wonderering what the heck it is. Looks like deer poop but it's clumped up....like you took a handlfull off fresh droppings and sqeezed them together. This spot I've been hunting is loaded up with it. I've hunted there 3 times so far and haven't seen anything yet but that's the way it is on public land (here). Anyway, thanks for the help.

Sounds like mature buck crap to me.

Deer poop can look like that when they've been eating a lot of green leafy vegetation.

My understanding is, if deer are eating soft food(like apples), their stool is likewise soft and clumps.

I was always told the deer dropping that are in one log or all the droppings are clumped together and not seperate droppings that look like they are sprinkled all over, kind oflike rabbit poop, was a buck dropping. Now of course I dont know where that info came from and I have never had the wonderful opportunity of watching a buck make a tootsie roll in front of me so I personally couldnt verify this.

What does it smell like and taste like??

i agree without the taste test we have no way of telling you the answer so get back out there and give it a bite

Throw a lil' greek or cajun seasoning on it first.
