RE: hunting scrapes

I've hunted a 12 acre hardwoods lot in the middle of a huge farm for 2 weekends and saw nada, zip, zero. This woods has probably 30 rubs on trees that are8to 10 inches in diameter. They run in a straight line along a ditch bank Yesterday morning after not seeing anything I scouted the surrounding fields and fence rows. I discovered 2 scrapes that had been made within the last few hours on the edge of the field. I purchased some "Hawgs Limited" pre/post rut scentfrom Ganderand freshened the scrapes before last nights hunt. I ended up seeing 9 deer, 3 of which were bucks. The biggest buck was following my scent trail to the scrapes when one of the others blew me off and they bolted 20 yards behind me and continued feeding along the fencerow away from me. Fresh primary scrapes are golden.

does anyone think it would be a good idea to use a buck grunt while hunting over a scrape
Still kind of early for that. You could, but I would not use it whole lot right now. I have not used one yet this year. I'm waiting another couple of weeks anyway.

I used "The can" yesterday and had a buck grunting like crazy. I thought he was coming in and then a car came down the road that borders the property. I never heard him again. I think they are about ready for some action.
