First Deer!!
#1
Well after years of hunting but not trying as hard as i can and only going out a few times per year i finally got a passion for bowhunting and it paid off...
Tonight my first night out i shot a nice sized Doe at about 18 yards. I know its not much compared to you fellas and gals but im pretty proud that i achieved it with a bow.
I finally realize how being patient and trying pays off. My arrow was very bloody but there was not one single blood trail. I was about to pack it up and come early morning so i decided id walk and just guess where she might be in the direction she ran.. and sure enough laying not 40yds from the stand in some thicket.
Not one drop of blood untill i found her laying..Lung shot.. Had to use a disposable camera so ill make sure to update when i get them back and scanned!!

Thanks everyone, ya im ready for the biggins now. Its private land so i can hunt wherever i want on 100acres. I have seen many monsters since i dirtbike out there but i never see these deer during the season...
PS: Any people in West Michigan that are experienced and want some land to hunt and help out a newcomer getting that monster??

Sparrowhawk........Good Job! Good luck on the next one. Just a comment on not finding a blood trail for 40 yards where the deer was. Depending on your shot....high - low - single penetration or double, very often you may not find any blood (or it may be extremely hard to find) for 30 or 40 yards. They run and bound so fast. Once they stop and start walking you'll see the trail.
Once again...good job!
