RE: Climbing Stands
ORIGINAL: MatthewG I agree with everyone that's for Summit. Great stand and very comfortable. |
RE: Climbing Stands
Summit Viper. Great all around climbing stand and arguably the most popular current design. Price is respectable as well.

RE: Climbing Stands
Loggy Bayou? I doubt it. I would opt for a Summit, preferrably the Viper X5. If there is one thing I will give Summit it's that they are still made in America-- for Americans.
I would also give a nod to Lone Wolf as it's cast platform is one of the most quiet. My biggest gripe with them is that they just don't make a seat that can keep me comfortable for those 12 hour days. For the money they need to work on this. Arm rests of some sort are an absolute must for those long stays. |
RE: Climbing Stands
look at ol'man stands, very comfortable, i hunt out of mine all day;),,
btw i like suumits also, but the last one i had was stolen over 10 years ago, since then i have used nothing but the ol'man products, sit in a few and try em out, only way your really gonna know........... |
RE: Climbing Stands
I've used API's, Lone Wolf, Baker's, and Summits in the past. They all have their ups and downs but the Summit line is the best for me. Lone Wolf is second....mainly because the stands are just too small and uncomfortable for extended hunts. I really think if Lone Wolf made, for example, a Sit & Climb "XL" for us larger hunters they would have a real winner. Try out several and pick the one you like best.
