SCORE!!!!!!!
After taking two days off from work I am swamped in the office so this will be quick.
For some odd reason the bucks are chasing does here on L.I. pretty well. Opening night had a good buck grunting and chasing a doe all around me, but no shot.
So the next night, after letting a six go in the mourning I brought out the rattle bag. In 80 deg. 90% humidity weather this buck chased a doe towards me only seconds after my second rattle sequence. He was blowing out his nose hard (I could see the snot flying out of his nose)
As you can see from the woods picture the ground is covered in 3 to 4 ft scrub oak and small pines. All you can see is the tops of their backs as they come by. I grunted to get him to stop at 35 yds in a small opening.
I nailed him in the chest and the rocket wolverine 3P stopped at the off shoulder. He dropped in his tracks and it was over.
I have one more buck tag and now I can be real picky <img src=icon_smile_big.gif border=0 align=middle><img src=icon_smile_big.gif border=0 align=middle>

RE: SCORE!!!!!!!
Congrats rack-attack, nice buck, man I hope it cools off here before opening day or I could be in the same sweaty situation you had, of course it would still be worth it.

RE: SCORE!!!!!!!
Congrats on a beauty. I have watched the bucks sparring in the fields for several nights now and considered breaking out the rattling antlers. I think they'll be with me next time out.
