interupted hunt

A local urbanpark that usually does not allow any huntingissued archerypermits where you could get 2 deer any sex and would not count toward your regular state tag limit. The park is mostly open field surrounded by woods and neighborhoods. When my daughter has soccer practice there you can usually see 10-15 deer coming into one of the small fields just before dark. I also went the day before it opened and scouted some of the trails leading out to the field. I saw 6 deer that night moving on that path around 6:30.

So, I set up around 4pm about 20 yards off the path and waited. Well, at around6:00 several people came into the areawent to the edges of the fields and were setting off firecrackers and bottle rockets obviosly in an attempt to scare the deer and interupt the hunting.

By the time the cops got there it was dark.
Ticked me off

Rob just gave you an excellent suggestion. That type of anti-hunting behavior should never be tolerated and I would prosecute to the fullest extent of the law.

There to damn single minded to even think that over population could kill the whole heard. They only hear what they want to hear and ignore proven facts. Next time they let off fireworks go over there and slap the dog snot out of one of them. I mean open handed back and forth about 8 times until their eyeballs shake. Man that ticks me off.[:@][:@][:@]

Get video and contact the DNR and there is no doubt they will be ticketed.

the other thing that p'd me off was that since the woods at the end of the field were sloped down, I hung a blaze orange hat on a tree limb at the end of the woods to indicate to other hunters that I was there so they wouldn't walk up on me.
It was stolen

I'll only get one more shot at em' this Friday afternoon. Still hope to get my first bow kill then

Sorry to hear that Danny--and haven't seen ya here in a while--but, we have hunter harassment laws in Georgia, and the game wardens really like enforcing it. I had a guy watching me and leaving threatening notes to my tree after I would leave, ina similar set up. I shot a 125"-130" 8 point, and we tracked it to the point where SOMEBODY dragged it off, within the hour!
