So, you have one pin that is dead on at 10, 20, & 30yds? It would seem that at 10 yards you'd be slightly high and at 30 slightly low.

That's amazing.

I have a TRUGLO Xtreme Site. Here it is.....http://truglo.com/content/prod_arche...xtreme_pro.asp

I am willing to bet that the guy with one site pin has some sort of a pendulum sight.

I will agree with you on the videos that alot of the deer in them do hear the bow or something at the time of the shot. As long as your bow is fairly quiet and you don't slap a sleeve on your heavy hunting gear, I honestly don't think the deer will hear you.

I don't have much to compare by bow to being a first year bow hunter. I just got it on 9/14. However, after going to an indoor range a few timesand being around other bows, my Diamond Victory is quiet.

I don't think I've seen a video yet where the deer hasn't jumped the shot....at least a little. Some duck it completely.

I personally shoot all my deer high with my bow. I know alot of guys have bad luck with hitting deer high, but a high shot 90% of the time almost guarantees a double lung shot, and that is the shot I want. The only thing you can hear with my bow at the shot is the arrow in flight whistling (with my target arrows - vanes are all messed up).:)

I sight in 20, 30 and 40 yards for hunting situations. I have 50 and 60 sighted in but that's only for the practice range. ;)

I used to have a 3 pins in mysight, 25, 35, & 45 yds. The only one I ever used was the first pin. So this year I took the last two off and only have one pin, not a pendulum. It is sighted in at 25 yds. Anything under 25 is still dead on. At 30-35 yds I would simply aim at the top of the kill zone and probably hit dead center. I wouldn't shoot past that. I like having just one pin, and with the speed of today's bows, you really don't need more, unless you just like having three pins crammed together. BTW, my Hoyt is about 5 years old and shoots nearly as fast as today's bows.

RE: Where do you sight your bow in at?

I did watch a Primos video once that showed slow motion footage of all the deer shot and marked the deer's back right as the shot was heard going off.........when the arrow hit......the deer had already gone down getting ready to pounce away. In some cases it was pretty dramatic how low they dropped before the arrow got there. They also said that this is why they aim for the heart......low in the chest. If he doesn't duck you get the heart and bottom lung.......if he does you are right in the middle of the chest.

Until I see a deer do that in the woods I will keep aiming for where I want to hit.........and sighting my bow in dead on. I have enough things going through my mind without trying to guesstimate how low my arrow might hit [:o]

It was an interesting video though.

I don't understand why you would have your bow sighted in low either. why don't you just put it dead on where you are aiming and if you want it to hit lower just aim lower. I only use one pin at 20 yards. if it is at 30 I just aim a little high. same idea as a scope on a rifle...you just need to know where your bow/rifle shoots.
