Congrats on the buck and on a great shot. Stalking a deer is a thrill and actually getting the shot off successfully is hard to do. Good job.

Hi All -

Just got back from the butchers. The Buck weighed in at 152 lbs dressed. Anyone know what that might be in "live weight"?

He survived the night perfectly. Most of the ice had not even melted.

I've been going over the shot in my mind. In retrospect, I don't know if I would have taken that shot from a tree stand. Angle & all might have been intimidating.

I've been practicing 15 to 40 yard shots at ground level for months now; I think that the practice really increased my confidence and certainly my skill.

We couldn't find the arrow last night. It was a total pass-through. The arrow went in about 2" behind the elbow going forward, but it came out on an up-angle heading somewhat rearward. Interesting.

Anyway, thanks again to everyone.

Heck of a shot! Good job. I'm real happy for you.

40 yds would be a long shot from a tree. That changes everything.

Your shot sounds like the kind you'd take out west. Good shooting.
