the green barked tree that te rubs are on....anyone know what kinda tree that is?

Where we hunt in Va. it seems that is the only tree they will rub...other area's they will rub the cedar's, smaller saplings....but this one particular parcel it seems that is the only tree the deer will hit or atleast prefer to hit....which I think is kinda odd. Have always wanted to know what is so appealing about it...but never knew what tree to look up... [&:]

So when I am coming up there to hunt, 2000 acres is enough for several of us....:D

Great looking land, good luck this year, you will probably shoot a big one!

Yeah I hear ya! I love seeing the pics from other's land as well. Good to see the difference in areas! I went out tonight to clear some shooting lanes for this Saturday. After clearing it out I walked the fringe of the woods and the field and turned around and saw a buck just walking from where I just was!! I swore I left at least a decent amount of scent in there from the trees I cut and handled but it didn't seem to bother him. I got a pic of him when he first came out... sorry about the blurryness but was all I could do with the digi cam zoomed in all the way with no tripod to steady. He eventually got within about 100 to 75 yds and then back in the woods. A decent basket six which I'd sling an arrow through for some meat in the freezer and a wall antler mount... then I saw a nice buck down below about 500 yds out which I let be.... FOR NOW!! Saturday can't get here soon enough. Here's the pic:
