When acorns are falling, hunt them hard. Deer do not like to eat things that touch dirt and will eat acorns as soon as they fall. If they are on the ground for too long, deerdon't likethem. They know this and will concentrate on the acorns while they are falling.
The dirt thing is a new one to me. I agree though hunt the acorns as they will not last long. I have never had a problem having deer eat my gorn off of the dirt, but that's just me

I noticed awhile ago that the grain I put down at my camera will get eaten to the point where it touches the ground and after that, they will not touch it anymore. I guess if they are really hungry they may ignore the dirt but if other foods are available, they would rather not eat off the dirt. Deerseem to besimilar to horses in that fact, at least in my observation.A horse will avoid eating anything with dirt on it.
