Awsome story and great pics!! You obviously have taken many deer over the years (either gun or bow) and know what you want as a "shooter". As for as the nay-sayers....I've been on my motorola radio w/ear-piece wispering to my buddy while deer were 8-10yrds under my stand. I totaly believe the cell phone bit. Way to go on a great hunt and for tracking your harvest until you found it. Now it's time for you to get a newer bow

Nice buck, and better story. Congrats, and thanks for sharing. I see nothing fishy about the story (except maybe the part about the misses not allowing you another tag - I'd work on that!)

Good luck in the future, hope to see you here in and out of season.

A bowhunting preacher, I love that part the best. Looks like he made a great shot too. We had a preacher that loved to go fishin with me at night (runnin yoyo's). I think I learned more in that boat than I did at church. Congrats to you both.

Sososwingshooter: Yeah, I kind of like my pastor since he sort of breaks the mold of what I'm used to in pastors. He's a bit more manly than the scholarly (dare I say 'geeky'?) pastors I have had in my past. He played football in college and just turned 32. Loves the outdoors and getting dirty. Like you, I'm learning more from him as we hang out and hunt together than I do in church. He asked me yesterday if I could fill in for him in the pulpit on December 22nd. What an honor, to be asked to do the Christmas sermon!!

Thanks everyone for your kind words and congratulations. I only have so many people to share the moment with, and that is a large part of the fun of hunting, the stories afterward. I'm looking forward to reading all of yours as your seasons meet with success.

That looks like a pretty nice buck to me. I said it once and I'll say it again. Congrats. That non-typical antler is funky looking. I still think it's funny that you were talking on the phone in the stand. I can just see it now, "Hi honey. Things are going good. I gotta go there's a buck."
