Hi,
I feel your pain, as I've had things stolen as well. I don't mean to throw salt in the wound, but it wasn't legal to leave personal property on the tree on state land anyway. His property may not have been stolen, but "confiscated" by the local warden or ranger. I know that several times per year here in central Wisconsin, they go to the woods for the purpose of removing illegally left tree stands. He's kind of in a catch 22, because if he calls the warden and he has the cam, he risks receiving a citation, which would probably cost more than the value of the cam.

I totally understand how you feel. I had a game cam stolen a year and a half ago. It was in February for heaven's sakes. Who the heck would be out then?

Some folks are just horrible and have no respect.

Thats only a small taste of how low people will go. I am uneasy about putting mine on private land and would never consider putting it on public land. Not sure if it will detract anyone but I take an engraver and write my name and phone number across the front of it. At least that way you have a way of IDing it if it is ever recovered.........dabow

I know what you feel as well as your friend, some people just don't know where to draw the line. My friends stand got stolen, I was borrowing it for my Private Land hunting area, and someone took the Gorilla Stand, Climbing Sticks, Realtree EZ Hanger, the locks were cut that were holding the stand and sticks to the tree. Now I have to pay my friend back for the stand. I was piss**..........!

I had a Lone Wolf stand stolen. That was costly! It also waslocked but again someone went out of thier way to get bolt cutters to cut the cable! This was also on private land. When I got to my tree I thought I must be at the wrong one when I did'nt see my stand, but I knew this was the tree! What a sick feeling it was!! Some people just do'nt give a crap!

I have heard of people putting notes inside their cameras that read something like this.

If you find this camera and have not found the other 4, then I probably have you on film stealing this one. I will press charges so please leave it alone.

I doubt that this would work every time but it might be worth a try and there is always room inside the case for a note like this. If someone thinks they might get caught it could make all the difference in the world. I also think that engraving your name on the case is an excellent deterrent to theft.
