If all of the rednecks out ther stop shootin the lil bucks and the lil does and take only 1 or 2 does a year, everybody's huntin would be a whole heck of a lot better...more deer= better huntin..only we can make the differance!

I will take mostly any buck that comes by bicks more around its not like there going to stay on your property. I hunt on private and public and will take preety much any buck. They can get hit by a car or a nother hunt. The only reason i would every not shoot a 4pt is unless I own 300 acres +. It brown its down for me. But I can also see were some people are coming from. If they want to spend all that time and money to wait for a monster that ok with me and if there the only person in the family that eats it.

Is a button buck considered an antlered buck, even if its buttons are considered too short to score...?

Not for tagging in NY..........don't know about other states.

It probably depends on a states game laws but here in Missouri they are considered antlerless untill they hit 3" spikes.

No, Button buck is antlerless. Vise versa an antlered doe gets the antlered tag.
Man that is brain twister!! LOL

Well not to give Atlasman a big head(we know he knows) he is correct. We have QDM the last 3 years and instead of seeing 1 or 2 big boys a year. This year I seen 6 and shot 2. It is still hard, but if we can make it easier and it is what you want to do then go for it. Last day's hunt I seen 12 different bucks. Because we have the buck to doe ratio about 2 to 1(which is good for MI) the ruts have been more active. I had 12 bucks after 1 hot doe that morning.
Now what Atlas has to understand it took a lot of hard work to get our property to this stage. We have planted CRP fields and food plots. Yes we reap the benifits, but you should when you put hard work in. Shooting a big deer is never easy, but if you can tilt the odds a little in your favor then do so!!!
