One of my hunting Area's in Piatt County Illinois the ground is already so littered with White Oak Acorns that after walking a while they start to really hurt your feet walking on them ... even with boots on.... this area is so littered with them that you literally cant take a step without stepping on them. The deer dont have to ge far in this area for food.
My Hunting area in Champaign County Illinois they are dropping and the ground is full of them and my hunting area in Vermillion County Illinois is also covered with acorns on the ground.
The Locust Pods are on the ground also and the deer are hitting them also.

Thanks for the replies, Im definitely hitting my spot on opening day...hopefully I get a doe. It would be nice to get that out of the way. What are Locust Pods? Also, where is your spot in champaign county? The best spot that I have ever hunted is located in Champaign county, about ten miles from my house. Good luck to everybody and happy huntin.
