Broadheads won't shoot right?!?!?!???
Got my broadheads out last week and they shoot down and left about 4-5" each direction. My first thought was you dufus, you're shooting 100g field points and 125g bh's. So I got some new field points, no change.
What could be causing this? Obviously I've got something a little messed up and it's getting magnified by the bh. I started shooting with both eyes open and really watching my arrow and it looks like the tail kicks a little about 5 yards out and then it straightens out. Any ideas??? |

Your bow is out of tune!!! Download Eastons tuning guide, It has everything you need to know about tuning for broad heads or any thing else!!!

Same problem I had with shooting fixed blade broadheads. Finally got tired of trying to make it work and switched to mechanical heads. Hadnt had a problem since.

Switching to mechanicals is no excuse for a untuned bow simply a shortcut....

Mossman did you change anything on your bow?
I had the same prob just low right... I had upped my # about 3 # and messed my BH impact all up.I was shooting Beman 400's, I went to GT XT 340's and walla problem solved. BH and FP dead on. Just a thought :D |

My first thought is that the Broadheads are plaining... Do you have Straight or Helical Fletchings...?? If they are straight, I have had this problem with fixed blade broadheads as well.. Also some broadheads shoot better then others... What heads are you shooting...??

new string
Just had a new string put on. It was at a good shop but I don't think it's tuned just right. I'll look at the easton guide. thanks.
btw, bh's are muzzy. |
RE: new string
If you have never tuned a bow you might get that shop to help you out. Some times if you are not sure of what you are doing you can make things worse. If it wasnt so close to season I would say play around with the tune but as season is here I would get profesional help to insure you get it right and fast. Also spin test your broadheads and if they wobble at all chunkem. If no wobblecheck and see if blades and fletching are in line if not this can be a problem.
