This is the worst........

RE: This is the worst........
I suffer the same every year. This year I decided to set my stand up just off an Elk Trail. I had envisioned everything exactly correct . . . well almost. Opening morning my cow came down the trail as expected . . . followed by a calf and a second cow.
I passed on the lead cow figuring to take my shot at the second cow. As I came to full draw . . . she winded me and spooked. Wanna bet I'll never pass on the first cow again?

Taz - I had not thought about the cardeer necklace in a vehicle being a bad thing. - I have the brow tine from my rattle rack hanging from the rear view mirror - that has scared off the deer so far from this vehicle and the explorer(fingers are crossed and I am nocking on wood)
This is the longest week(s) there are! Our bow season opened TODAY...but I screwed up my shoulder last week and have not been able to shootwhat is worse...yesterday the doctor said it is tendonitis(sp)in my left arm/elbow I had it bad in my right a couple of years ago an it lasted several months, but have caught it early and hopefully will not get that bad.
Will try shooting later this week and see how that goes.
Good luck on Saturday!!!

12 days and a wake up, of course the night before I'll be so pumped I probably won't sleep much. Taking the day off, can't wait. First Bowhunt ever, second season of deer hunting. First deer season where I really feel like I have a clue as to where the deer are. Last year was just aimless wandering. I think about it each night when I go to sleep, and daily as I take practice shots in the back yard. I want to keep going back into the woods to see if there is something I missed, but... No, this isn't too bad, I can wait another 12 freaking days.

What makes it worse for me is that I won't be able to get my deer tag 'till 4 days after the opener. I'm really looking forward to getting a deer this year. It's my second season. I didn't get a deer last season, but I learned a lot and come away with more patience and determination.
God bless,
Brandan
