Here in east Tx the temp has been in the mid-90s forever. I hope we get a cool down soon, only 16 days left. If I have to hunt in this weather I will. After all this is my first bow opener. Where was I all those years?

it was pretty damn foggy today but i had the luck in taking a doe. weaterman said rain all night and some in the day but it was actually clear lol. i would have been pissed if i skipped it and woke up to a sunny day.i brought my deer to the butcher at 9:30 am and had to leave it inside a door. i'm guessing it was about 65-68 degrees inside. they dont come in until 4pm. is my deer going to spoil? i am guessing not but still not liking the idea of it sitting out for 7 hours. i had it gutted withing 1 hour of shooting it.

OK, I did go out this afternoon. Met Mdbowhunter and showed him a place to hang a stand. Then we found a place for him to hunt tonight. I went and hunkered down in a pile of brush in the middle of a corn field. I ran a big deer off the brush when I walked out of the corn. All I heard was a jumbo deep throated snort and saw a butt wider than mine going out the other side into the corn. This place is only 15 by 20 yards and he was calling it home today. IT' s got a couple trees in it to that give him shade. Oh well, better luck next time. Rick had 4 does and fawns around him. My wife had a bad afternoon. I talked to her and left shortly after I got set up so not much hunting today. Oh well, there's always tomorrow. I'm going in the AM but then I'm hanging it up until it cools a little. It's just too dang hot. I was standing in the middle of the woods just handing Rick climbing sticks and sweating up a storm. The poor soul, I made him hang the thing by himself. HE ask me if I wanted to climb up and have a look, I said NOPE...too hot. We both decided does and dinks had a free pass today. We really didn't want to kill something and then have to mess with it.[&:][:'(] Len of course got to give us all grief because he went this AM. HE saw some girls and a little buck but nothing he felt like shooting.

My trip to NY this weekend is off. My wife has had a couple rough days and doesn't feel up to the trip. I don't want to leave her alone for 3 days while I go to a wedding. She's just having some pain, not bad, but more emotional stuff than anything. She had globs of company for two weeks and now they're all gone. You 'd feel emotionally screwed too if all you were left with was me.[8D]

What David left out was this mornings hunt. I drew 1st blood this year, a tasty littly 6pt. Shot him at 6:50am this morning and me and David (more David than me)had him boned out and in the cooler by 10am. Then we sipped iced tea
