20ft most of the time when the leaves are on the tree. Without leaves, 30+. Yes, it's required where I hunt due to the number of deer always around at any given time. They still check me out from time to time but usually just go about their business. If I was a less skilled hunter and using a gun then that height isn't required.:D:D:D

Most of the time, I can be found at around 18 feet or so off the ground. The tree I hunted this morning though offers no place to hang a stand until around 25 + feet. I'll adjust my height somewhat to allow me to have decent cover and a straight section of tree, but I prefer around 18 feet.

As high as I can get. Most of my stands are 15' or less because thats all the trees around here will allow!
