I usually aim for the 20-25 range. However I've had some situations were I've gone higher or lower because of the particular tree. I hate going too high in a skinny tree only to be whipped around all day by the wind. :D

I won't go past 15 feet from the base of the stand to the ground. I like to have the game as close as possible, and I do not like to shoot at extreme angles at deer. If one scents me because of that, so be it, it wasn't meant to happen.

my feet are usually no less than 16 feet up. I have my pull line marked and 16 18 20 feet. i go until I get into some cover. no less than the 16 feet up however. I seem to get busted when lower.. warning the higher you get the smaller the kill zone target appears. if you shake at all the arrow placement can get diffucult.

Usually 25 feet. I tie one end of a 25 ft rope to my stand and the other end to by bow. As I am climbing I know to stop when the bow lifts off the ground.
that's pretty much what i do too. but i have one end tied to my belt loop rather than the stand. i keep it in a cargo pocket in my pants and leave it tied to the beltloop so i always have it with me. 20' up and i'll feel it tugging and that's where i'll stop. sometimes sooner depending on the tree and terrain. seems to work fine for me as far as not getting busted.

18-28'ish depending on the tree canopy, and the foliage.

Opitmally 20 to 22 feet depending on cover. I have nothing to prove this, but I believe that rising thermals cause my scent to be carried further up (and therefore become more dissipated) the higher up I sit. Of course, there are limits. I once read an article that you should place your stand 30 feet up, but I think that would severely limit my target area for deer that were close to the base of the tree. So this height is a compromise that makes sense for me.

20 -25 feet up, or 11 screw-in steps. I have a 25' pull up rope so I try not to go higher than that although I have at times because of the shape of the tree doesn't allow for a lower placement. But my biggest deer
was shot out of a stand that was only 12' off the ground in a small young pine in an old cutover. Of course TJF shot his nice buck from the ground. If you're low make sure you have lots of cover around you.

I like to be atleast 20 ft.But I do hunt from ladder stands also that only allow me to be at 16ft.You just have to be more cauious when lower and play the wind more.
