Age and Accuracy

I'm finding that the older that I get my accuracy seems to suffer. HAs anyone else experienced this or am I just laying it onto age.

I am not an old man by far but I have noticed a decrease in my potential for accuracy with what I have always considered my "typical setup". I have found that I need to make modifications either to the equipment I am using or need to keep forgiveness more into consideration when buying new equipment.

Getting old isn't fun.

I know what you're saying PA. I just turned 42 and I'm noticing that alot of things on me aren't what they once were.:D

I'm 53 and what I have noticed most is that I have to work more diligently on conditioning. For example, I can't hold the string back as long unless I put a lot more work into conditioning my upper body. I still pull a 70# bow, but I can see that these days are numbered. This decline in physical ability, i'm sure, also must effect accuracy. Although I am still very aware of my limitations, I am not sure that accuracy has deteriorated to a material extent, yet.

I'm not as accurate as I once was but I'm as accurate once as I ever was.;) But seriously, I shoot far less as I once did but make the practices more important.... I don't shoot the competition I once shot and after my accomplishments in 3D, it's all about hunting for me now....is it an age thing? For the most part....no doubt.

At nearly 54 my vision is not as sharp as it once was. Though I'm still a pretty good archer I can feel my accuracy slipping. That's with regard to target shooting. With regard to deer though I think I might be a bit better than when I was younger. I'm more confident and calm during the shot. Guess at least for now, experience is making up for declining physical prowess.
