Default Human Scent Meter

Okay all of you smart hunters out there...let's put our brains together and see if we can't create a Human Scent Meter. There are several threads out there dealing with scent elimination, clothes storage, plastic tubs, zip lock bags, Arm & Hammer, etc.....What we need is a meter and we can point towards us and it tell us if we stick or not....I mean how much human scent we are emitting. You have to agree, this would take all of the guess work out of it.

Side note....
I washed my hunting clothes last night in scent elimination detergent because I sweated like a stuck pig the other day climbing the hill and climbing my stand. I had sprayed everything down with Scent Elimination spray and also some Earth scent. I rubbed a lot of pine needles all over me once I got seated to help cover-up my scent. I noticed when I washed the clothes that the water was pretty dirty. (I only wore them once) I removed them last night to hang out on the porch to dry and they still seemed to have an oder to them. Does scent elimination soap go bad? Should I get some Arm & Hammer today and rewash everything? The clothes didn't stink like me but I could still smell the Earth scent which leads me to believe they didn't get washed.

Arm & Hammer has UV brighteners in it..............Don't use that. I've used it plenty of times. I bet I glow in the dark![&:]

Good Idea...........A stink meter.

good idea find the scent meter, once we point it at ourselves the only conclusion that were are going to reach is that we stink. what we stink like depends on what we ingest and where we hang out. wash everyhting all ya want buy anything ya want but ya ain't going to take the stink away.

On the upside the deer are getting more and more used to it, as uban sprawl continues they smell us more everyday. remains to be seen how the next deer that smells you will react. heck, the deer might even like what it is smelling and wants to get closer, but than again the deer might not. Just depends on the deer I suppose.

good luck with your cover up attempts, but I'm afriad the deer's noses are way past anything you can do to cover your smell up..

The Arm and Hammer laudry detergent might have UV brighteners in it but I don't think regular Baking soda does. That's what I use to wash my clothes in.
As far as a scent meter, just ask a pregnant women to smell you. My wife had the sharpest nose when she was pregnant. If I opened a bottle of deer urine in the GARAGE, she could smell it in the bedroom. She even knew what the nieghbors were cooking for dinner across the road.

If you stored your camo in a sealed plastic bag with the earth scent wafer, you can wash it a hundred times and you still won't get all of that smell out. Believe me, I tried to get it out and couldn't.[&o] Then if figured that that was a good thing and stopped trying.

women to smell you.
I don't see how this is going to help. I figure if I had some woman willing to smell my crotch I'm going to be to busy to go hunting anyway.[&:]
