Default Fav. place to hang stand

What are your favorite spots to hang stands for bow season? I've got several hung 20 yds. off major trails between bedding and feeding spots. Also have a couple hung 30 yds. inside the woods along the edges of fields.

I tend to prefer extremely thick cover between bedding and feeding areas. The deer head right for it as opposed to walking through the open hardwoods. If I can find a particular spot on the side of a valley then all the better.

Being as I rarely get to hunt mornings and usually get off work at 2 or 3 PM, I only get an hour or 2 of actual hunting time so I place mine at field edges so I dont scare everything out of the woods before I get in my stand, and because of your topic, its my favorite way to hunt, watch the deer interact with each other, think about stuff, and watch squirrels do amusing things. I do have a few in the woods between feeding and bedding areas for the rare days I get to hunt all day.

I have a portable climber and it depends where I am hunting...
1. I sometimes climb this one tree and get about 12 feet off the ground (that's as high as the tree will allow me to get as it's on the skinny side). Best thing is it's nicely tucked in among three thick cedars in a small marshy opening with a pond to my rear. Deer migrate thru all the time.
2. Another spot is up in some thickets on an edge of a elevated field. Acorns in abundance all around and I have my chances if a deer comes in from across the field or comes in from deeper in the woods.

Basically, during bow season I need to seek concealment which means being heavily camoflagued among the tree branches and leaves. During shotgun season when all the leaves are down, I seek areas where there are 2-3 large trees almost growing within a foot of one another so I have a good background and can hide myself well.

My go to stand locations always seem to be right around a funnel, especally when there is a creek with high banks. OHH BABY I LOVE THOSE!!! Two out of three deer came from a creek funnel last year.
