Default Can diet affect scent control?

A couple of years ago, I read an article stating that diet can affect your scent. Has anyone ever heard of this and can you use this to your advantage? I'm not overweight but as I've gotten older, I perspire very heavily. Even with baseslayer clothing, if the temp goes into the 80's, sweat just pours out of me and runs down my face even if I'm just sitting. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

For sure.We smell like what we eat.Are breath, sweat, and farts.eat garlic and you smell like a garlic. I eat deer meat during deer season and chew on a tarsal gland soaked in apple juice

I would tend to agree. Bob's reference to eating alot of garlic is a perfect example. On the other end of the spectrum I have actually had folks that smelled like alcohol even though they had not consumed it that day and had showered since they had.

A Buddie of mine takeschlorophyll pills during hunting season. Supposedly his mom used to work at a nursing home and they used to give these pills to the stinky ones[:'(]I don't know if they work or not!

GARLIC!!!!! I love it, pour it on, but my wife can't stand to be around me for two days after...because I sweat it. So yes, we are what we eat...and can smell like it in the field. So watch what you eat a few days prior to go out in the field and during the hunt.

Absolutely. I don't really change what I eat, but am aware what diff. foods can do. I would imagine that more 'neutral' foods would tone the odor down a bit.

Ever heard of Beer Sweats?

And what exactly does a tarsal gland taste like? those damn things can make meat taste like $#it, I'd hate to have one in my mouth.

Yes Yes and Yes! I hunt with a vegitarian who will only eat fish if he eats meat. Another buddy and I swear every year we will start eating only BK fish meals because of the bucks my friend always sees.

When I go bow hunting, I try ti stay away from Onions, garlic, and excessive alcohol, because I find it really comes thru my pores when I sweat.

And my hunting camp doesn't have any running water. So I have to be careful.

Now come gun season, well...I don't care as much.
