HUGE Buck shot in North Dakota!

Check out this buck shot in North Dakota in the first weekend of archery season. I don't know any score on it yet though.

Wow, that's a monster for sure. The velvet just makes it more unique. Looks like I may be headed up toward ND next year for early season;)

Okay, here I am doing one of the things I've always pissed and moaned about [:@]...

but...

....doesn't something about that buck strike you as odd? I'm not casting any sort of accusation here, but it just seems to me like that deer was very, very well nourished. Perhaps someone is just doing a really really good job of managing the genetics in the deer around their camp? I dunno.

God bless that guy (Tommy?) if it's a true fair chase deer, as I have every reason to believe that it is, but that thing is just crazy!

Why does there ALWAYS have to be someone that doubts the authenticy of a animal. [:@]

So what is wrong to manage a deer herd and supply nutritional food plots ?????

A lot of pickup truck pictures if you ask me. How could somebody with such a nice deer not take some good pictures of him in the woods.

micdundee 09-07-2005 12:23 PM

RE: HUGE Buck shot in North Dakota!

maybe he didn't have a camera in the woods? I haven't heard any rumblings up here yet as to give any indication it wasn't taken legally/fair chase.

Some people are just so insanely jealous that someone besides them kills a nice buck they can't help but question its authenticity. I don't know how to post the quote I'm referring to in my reply, any help?

HAHAHA....i know what you mean, i would probably do the same......and it would be one of those things when you just hit the ground, break an arm, jaw, leg, whatever, and just get up and start looking for it....no pain felt

I understand the questions.Kinda looks like a buck you would find at a home grown outfitter. But seriously that is one heck of a buck.I admire the hunter who got him. That is deffinately a once in a life time buck.

RE: HUGE Buck shot in North Dakota!

I see so many huge bucks shot and they all have one thing in common, crappy pictures. Dont you guys up North know how to take quality photos? If the buck isint laying in a pickup bed (thats normally full of crap) then its hanging in a garage or strung out in somebodies yard with everything in the background taking the attention away from the animal.

Anyway thats a great buck.........

RE: HUGE Buck shot in North Dakota!

I wish he would have let him grow up a little more, but other than that awesome buck! And I agree, people need to learn how to take pictures! The sad thing is whoever was taking his pictures had a $1500 digital camera and a nice lens, so there is no excuse! [:@]

Is that buck scored minus velvet? If it is, I'm sure it'll lose alot of points because of it.

Also...I can't believe guys in ND shoot immature deer. I surely as heck woulda let him walk and reach a fuller, more mature rack stage.;)

Cardeer I have read alot of your replies and posts and always agree with you. We think the same way but I think if you shot a deer like this you would with out a question take alot of pics.
